Looking to put the perfect finish on your Valentine's Day Weekend? Look no further than the 9th Annual Chains of Love 5k, 10k, 15k, and 1/2 Mile Kid's Fun Run brought to you by the Cal Poly Triathlon Team. Grab a partner and finish holding hands in our couples division, or race alone and set a personal record—the choice is yours! All courses tour the rolling hills of the beautiful Cal Poly campus, and feature our signature race-leading cupids!
Race Information
Chains of Love is one of the biggest fundraisers and community outreach events facilitated by the Cal Poly Triathlon Team each year. Unique in style and location, this run is hosted entirely on the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo campus every Valentine's Day Weekend. There are three categories: student, non-student, and couples. Student discounts are available with presentation of a valid student ID, and couples are encouraged to cross the finish line holding hands, thereby illustrating the name of our race: Chains of Love. Additionally, a half-mile fun-run is the perfect way to involve your little athletes-to-be! Each leg of the run is led by our signature bicycle-riding cupids, those studly young men and women who don diapers and wings for your enjoyment!

Proceeds from the race help send our club team to the USAT Collegiate National Championships. This year, Nationals will occur in Lubbock, TX in April, 2010.
Additionally, Chains of Love is pleased to announce a pending partnership with the Cal Poly Housing Department and Inter-Housing Council. With Chains of Love as a Hall Competition and Community of the Year criteria, 10% of race proceeds will be donated of the charities of the winning halls' choice.
Awards
Every participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and race bag stuffed with fun goodies and coupons from local businesses. Pending participant demographics, the following age-group top finishers will receive prizes in the solo category: 10&under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
